Dear Friends of Wanchai Bars/Pubs,
Glass is 100% recyclable. In 2009, glass recycling rate in HK is 1% and
that is far behind many cities in the globe. In order to make HK
an environmental friendly city, a pilot project, namely, “green glass green”
is launching to raise consciousness on glass recycling in HK community.
Your participation is an evidence to demonstrate your green concern to the customers. It also helps HK create a green image that appealing to environmental tourists.
Details of glass collection:
Wine/spirit/beer/water glass bottles only; at
Luard Road Refuse Collection Point, on
Sat, Sun and Mon, between 9:00-10:30am
Please inform your cleaner to separate clean glass bottles and drop at glass recycling bins accordingly. For the participating bars/pubs, we will issue them a special label for the green commitment.
An opening ceremony is scheduled on 27 June (Sun) at Lockhart Playground at 3:30-4:45pm. Participating bars/pubs will be invited to join this historic event with government officials and local leaders.
